A Century of Stories

The First World War touched the lives of hundreds of millions of people and shaped the world in which we live today. Nearly everyone has some sort of connection with the events of the War.

Perhaps there was a member of your family who was caught up in the conflict, someone who served in the forces, worked in a war industry or on the land?  Maybe you belong to a community that was opposed to the War?  There may be a link to the place where you live, work, your school or your place of worship.

Do you or your family come from another country that was affected by the War?  What was happening in your street, village or town a hundred years ago?  We can help you discover your connection with the First World War. So if you would like to find out more, or would like to be able to tell other people about your story, please get in touch with us to join in A Century of Stories.

Nigel Atter - First World War Family History

One of the Friends of the Project, Nigel Atter (seen here front left on a recent visit to The Somme battlefields), has recently launched a website offering his services as a researcher of family military history. Nigel's website can be found by following this link. So, if you have drawn a blank with your own research project, Nigel could be the man to help you.

We wish Nigel every success with his new venture.
